Football Game Preview: Clinton Cardinals vs. Warrensburg Tigers

Clinton hasn't had much luck against Warrensburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cardinals will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Clinton is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Clinton will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Harrisonville, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Cardinals came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 20-13 on Friday.

A big part of Clinton's win came down to the chemistry between Camden Westendorff and his top target Brody Barnhart. Westendorff threw for 75 yards and one TD while Barnhart gained 93 total yards and a touchdown. What's more, Barnhart racked up 30 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Clinton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Warrensburg). They claimed a resounding 56-0 victory over Center. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 236th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clinton's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Warrensburg, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
