Softball Recap: 12 Straight Home Wins for West Platte

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mid-Buchanan, West Platte was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the North Andrew Cardinals by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Considering the Bluejays have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophie Grier was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Grier was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Cline, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Molly Cline also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

West Platte pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for North Andrew, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

As of now, neither West Platte nor North Andrew have any future games scheduled.
