Basketball Game Preview: Summerfield Waldorf Mustangs vs. Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans

Summerfield Waldorf hasn't had much luck against Rio Lindo Adventist recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Summerfield Waldorf Mustangs will challenge the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Summerfield Waldorf's defense has only allowed 23.3 points per game this season, so Rio Lindo Adventist's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Summerfield Waldorf is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 44-20 margin over Napa Christian on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Rio Lindo Adventist had just enough and edged Trinity Prep out 42-40 on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1177th, while the Crusaders are ranked 494th).

Summerfield Waldorf's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-6.

Things could have been worse for Summerfield Waldorf, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 34-20 loss to Rio Lindo Adventist when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Summerfield Waldorf avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
