The Shasta Wolves will face off against the Pleasant Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Shasta will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Foothill, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wolves walked away with a 3-1 win over the Cougars on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (97-95) Shasta actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-21, 25-22, 31-29.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pleasant Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Enterprise 3-0 on Tuesday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pleasant Valley took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-12.

Pleasant Valley found their leader in sophomore Keira Purvis, who had 16 digs and four aces.

Pleasant Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are 10-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Shasta's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Pleasant Valley, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.

Shasta came out on top in a nail-biter against Pleasant Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Vikings' Kobi Sanchez, who had 26 digs and three aces.
