Basketball Recap: North East Comes Up Short

After soaring to 59 points the game before, North East was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They lost 49-23 to the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers. If the Grape Pickers were looking for revenge after losing 57-38 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

North East's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Coming up, North East will head out on the road to face off against Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Northwestern sitting on 21 straight victories and Mercyhurst Prep on five.
