Basketball Recap: Monache Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Monache extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Milly Rojas. The Monache Marauders walked away with a 57-46 victory over the Arroyo Grande Eagles on Saturday thanks in part to Rojas, who went 7 of 15 en route to 18 points and seven boards. Her afternoon made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Shelley Andrade, who posted seven points and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Monache is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Arroyo Grande, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

Monache and Arroyo Grande should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Monache will take on Redwood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday up 289 places (72 vs. 361). Monache is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Arroyo Grande (ranked 71st) will meet Righetti (ranked 298th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
