Softball Recap: Union Redhawks vs. Bishop Kelley Comets

Union extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping them down to 4-18. They came up short against the Bishop Kelley Comets, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-4 last Monday.

As for Bishop Kelley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. The result was nothing new for Bishop Kelley, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Bishop Kelley's part, Kamdyn Berry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Berry has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Larkin O'Stasik was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
