Football Recap: Huntsville Takes a Loss

Huntsville was the 33-18 winner over Montgomery when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets were dealt a 54-20 loss at the hands of the Bears on Friday. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Despite the defeat, Huntsville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zarien Adolphe threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Landon Fisher was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and one score.

Huntsville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Montgomery, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Huntsville is set to square off against their familiar foe Dayton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Traeshawn Brown and Denim Foster. Meanwhile, Montgomery will challenge rival Splendora at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
