Recap: Burroughs Bears vs. Pasadena Bulldogs
It was a good run, but the Burroughs Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 45-35 to Pasadena. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Burroughs has scored all season.
Burroughs lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mariam Fahs, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Valentina Morales, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Burroughs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Burroughs' defeat dropped their record down to 19-3. As for Pasadena, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Burroughs won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Alemany at 5:00 p.m. on January 20th. Alemany is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Pasadena, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Burbank at 6:30 p.m. Burbank is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
