Football Recap: Austin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Austin extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were beaten by the Temple Wildcats 48-14. That's two games in a row now that the Maroons have lost by exactly 34 points.

As for Temple, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

A big part of Temple's victory came down to the chemistry between Kylan Basinger Basinger and his top target Ramauhn Brown. Basinger threw for 362 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 15.7 yards per attempt while Brown picked up 200 receiving yards and three scores. Brown's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Byron Crittendon helped Basinger out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards and one TD on only five carries.

Looking ahead, Austin is taking a road trip to face off against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Maroons will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Temple, they will be playing at home against Shoemaker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
