Baseball Recap: Munroe Takes a Loss

Munroe extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the Franklin County Seahawks, falling 18-0. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Seahawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Franklin County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the contest before.

For Franklin County's part, Nolan Alford made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Alford a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Franklin County let Kayden Drake and Sadiq Jones run wild. Drake got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two RBI, while Jones got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those four runs gave Drake a new career-high. Rylan Wood was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Munroe will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Liberty County at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin County, they will square off against Aucilla Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
