Basketball Recap: Beyer Falls Despite Big Games from Alana Dancer and Kylie Kulina

Beyer suffered their closest loss since January 4, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Pacheco Panthers by a score of 45-42. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 47-45.

Kylie Kulina and Alana Dancer certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Kulina posted 12 points and five rebounds, while Dancer earned nine points and three blocks. Caliray Lopez-Murillo was another key player, putting up six points.

Pacheco got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sasha Siemiller out in front who put up 17 points and five boards. Siemiller has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mary Tava, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Beyer's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Pacheco, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Beyer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-51 victory against Ceres on the 11th. As for Pacheco, they have also already played their next game, a 75-67 win against Grace Davis on the 11th.
