Softball Recap: John Milledge Academy Wins Going Away Against Trinity Christian

John Milledge Academy won the last time they faced Trinity Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Trojans blew past the Crusaders 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Trojans have posted against the Crusaders since October 17, 2020.

Addie Latimer made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Izzy Santarone and Anna Renfroe did most of the damage at the plate: Santarone got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Renfroe went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two hits gave Renfroe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emmerson Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

John Milledge Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

The win got John Milledge Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Milledge Academy will head out to face off against Westfield School at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Brentwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
