Soccer Game Preview: Northside vs. Veterans

Northside is 1-6 against Veterans since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Northside Eagles will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Veterans Warhawks at 7:30 p.m. Northside will be strutting in after a win while Veterans will be coming in after a loss.

Northside's tournament run continued when they took on Griffin on Saturday. Northside was the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over Griffin. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three goals.

They hit Griffin with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Noe Yanez-Robles (2), Israel Joaquin, Angel Castaneda, and Larry Maldonado.

Meanwhile, while the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Lowndes who was credited with the victory on Saturday. Lowndes got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Veterans' two. The Warhawks haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Northside now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Veterans, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Northside suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Veterans in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Northside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
