Soccer Recap: Godinez Fundamental Takes Down Capistrano Valley Christian in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Godinez Fundamental had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles out 1-0. That's two games straight that the Grizzlies have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Macayla Hysaw, who's now up to two this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Godinez Fundamental and bumps their season record up to 12-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Coming up, Godinez Fundamental will square off against Barstow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Godinez Fundamental's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. Capistrano Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
