Recap: Chester Volcanoes vs. Quincy Trojans

The Chester Volcanoes lost against the Quincy Trojans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Chester was dealt a 59-32 defeat at the hands of Quincy. While losing is never fun, Chester can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 759th, while Quincy is ranked 376th).

Quincy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jenna Peay out in front who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peay has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Nussle, who scored 15 points.

Chester dropped their record down to 8-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Quincy, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-4.

Chester will head out on the road to face off against Burney at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Chester is facing Burney at the right time seeing as Burney is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Quincy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Loyalton at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th. Loyalton's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Quincy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
