Baseball Recap: Paideia Takes a Loss

Paideia came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-2 to the Landmark Christian War Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Pythons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Paideia has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Landmark Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Looking ahead, Paideia will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitefield Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Landmark Christian, they will head out to take on Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The War Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
