Soccer Game Preview: Rockmart vs. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe

The Rockmart Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Rockmart is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Woodland last Thursday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 10-0. One thing that didn't help the Yellowjackets' chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Mason Williams.

Meanwhile, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe earned a 4-2 win over Christian Heritage on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Christian Heritage with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gio Perez (2), Anthony Velasquez, and Rafael Leal.

The victory made it two in a row for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two contests. As for Rockmart, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
