Softball Game Preview: Eustis Panthers vs. Branford Buccaneers

The Eustis Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Branford Buccaneers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Eustis fell victim to Lake Brantley and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 11-0 to the Patriots. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Branford entered their game against Trenton on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Buccaneers came up short against the Tigers, falling 13-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Buccaneers, who until this contest were averaging 3.7 runs allowed.

Branford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Blue, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The loss was their first at home, dropping their record down to 7-3. As for Eustis, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Eustis hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Branford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs.
