Gunnison dropped down to 12-12 on Saturday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against  the Alamosa Mean Moose, falling  19-12. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mean Moose this season,  with their most recent  loss being a  20-2  defeat  back in September.
  Maddy Bacalis and  McKayla Singer stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Bacalis  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  stolen base, while  Singer  went 2-for-5 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Bacalis is  on a roll when it comes to  RBI, as she's  now  brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Josie Vollendorf, who  went 2-for-5 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
As for Alamosa, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9. Considering they have won ten contests by more than six  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 On Alamosa's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Alivia Miller, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  hits  Miller has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Taelynn Kreps-Smith, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Gunnison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alamosa, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  10-0  loss against Southeast Colorado on the 18th.
