Baseball Recap: Waunakee Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Waunakee's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Verona Wildcats on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Waunakee's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Verona, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Waunakee will head out to challenge Monona Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Silver Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Verona, they will welcome Janesville Parker at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
