Basketball Recap: Yuba City Comes Up Short

Yuba City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 35-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Placer Hillmen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hillmen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-6 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Yuba City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jazlene Casolis posted six points.

Yuba City's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Placer, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Coming up, Yuba City will head out on the road to challenge Nevada Union at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Placer, they will host River Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
