After a string of four wins, Peach County's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 8-4 to Lamar County.
Shaniyah Gibson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other pitching news, Anna Grace Wilcox was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
Back at the plate, Alyssa Crozier made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
