Basketball Game Preview: Alameda Hornets vs. Piedmont Highlanders

Alameda hasn't had much luck against Piedmont recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Alameda Hornets will face off against the Piedmont Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Alameda is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Encinal: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Alameda blew Encinal out of the water with a 67-18 final score. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Piedmont came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Titans 61-47.

Alameda's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Piedmont, their win bumped their record up to 19-4.

Alameda came up short against Piedmont in their previous meeting back in January, falling 54-44. Can Alameda avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
