Softball Recap: Union City Takes a Loss

After flying high against Strother on Thursday, Union City came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Davenport Bulldogs by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Union City's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Davenport, they pushed their record up to 22-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Union City is taking a road trip to challenge Okarche at 4:30 p.m. on October 9. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Davenport, they will welcome Cleveland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
