Baseball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Grace Christian Academy can now relate to. They lost 12-4 to the Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this matchup were averaging 3.91 runs allowed.

Daniel Johnson put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Landon Temples made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Grace Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Vidalia Heritage Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-13.

While Grace Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
