Basketball Recap: Burbank Titans vs. Fairfield Falcons
After flying high against Foothill last Friday, Burbank came back down to earth. The Burbank Titans took a blow against the Fairfield Falcons on Wednesday, falling 68-33. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 914th, while the Falcons are ranked 402nd).

Despite the loss, Burbank still got an impressive performance from Aniyah Bufford, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 boards. Bufford has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 15 times she's played.
Even though they lost, Burbank smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairfield only pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Fairfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alaisha Mathis, who posted seven points in addition to nine boards and four steals. Natalie Chavez was another key player, going 6 of 9 en route to 14 points and three steals.
Burbank's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Fairfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.
Burbank didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-20 win against Valley on the 24th. Fairfield has also already played their next game, a 72-11 victory against Johnson on the 24th.
