It was a good run, but Washington County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 9-2 to the Dublin Fighting Irish. The Golden Hawks were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Fighting Irish's pitchers proved too tough.

Washington County's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Dublin, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington County will welcome Bleckley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bleckley County's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Dublin, they will host Jefferson County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
