Softball Recap: Mt. Zion Takes a Loss

After flying high against Stephenson on Thursday, Mt. Zion came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell 11-6 to the Riverdale Raiders on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost three in a row.

Sanai Grace made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Saniyah Jones was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Mt. Zion's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Riverdale, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion will take on Jonesboro at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Riverdale, they will face off against Stone Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
