Softball Game Preview: Denver East Angels vs. Denver South Ravens

The Denver East Angels will take on the Denver South Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Denver East has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Denver East lost 14-4 to Denver North on Monday. The Angels haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Denver East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kathrine Zirlin, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another was Zellie Frye, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Denver South and Thomas Jefferson had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Ravens were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Spartans on Tuesday. Considering the Ravens have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Denver East's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Denver South, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
