Basketball Game Preview: Bradford Owls vs. Coudersport Falcons

Bradford is 2-8 against Coudersport since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Bradford Owls take on the Coudersport Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bradford is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Cameron County on Monday. Bradford came out on top in a nail-biter against Cameron County, sneaking past 40-37. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Owls as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Coudersport really took it to Smethport for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-7 win. With the Falcons ahead 47-1 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Coudersport's win came from a few key players Bradford will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emilee Ruter, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Saige Fox, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Coudersport is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points per game. As for Bradford, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Bradford suffered a grim 46-25 defeat to Coudersport in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Bradford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
