Softball Game Preview: Aurora Houn Dawgs vs. Logan-Rogersville Wildcats

Aurora hasn't had much luck against Logan-Rogersville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Houn Dawgs will venture away from home to challenge the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Aurora's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seneca on Thursday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Houn Dawgs were not able to get on the board.

Bolivar hit Logan-Rogersville with a six-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 8-1 to the Liberators. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Liberators recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Bella Pope spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Logan-Rogersville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Shevchuk, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Aurora's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Logan-Rogersville, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Aurora suffered a grim 24-15 defeat to Logan-Rogersville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Houn Dawgs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
