Basketball Recap: Garces Memorial Takes a Loss

Garces Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 77-25 loss at the hands of the Centennial Golden Hawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 98-16 back in January.

Centennial was led to victory by Laker Shaw and Ishani Reyes. Shaw went 10 of 20 en route to 24 points in addition to seven steals and six assists, while Reyes went 8 for 13 on her way to 18 points and three steals. Shaw has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Keke Shaw, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Garces Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Centennial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-6.

Garces Memorial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-37 victory against Stockdale on the 30th. Centennial has also already played their next game (against Bakersfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
