Basketball Recap: Steelton-Highspire Comes Up Short

Steelton-Highspire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 67-49 bruising from the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Steamrollers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 556th, while the Crusaders are ranked 170th).

Bishop McDevitt was led to victory by Leilah Horshaw and Isabella Jones. Horshaw went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points, while Jones went 5 for 6 on her way to 13 points and six boards. Horshaw is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brielle Saunders, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Steelton-Highspire's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Bishop McDevitt, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Steelton-Highspire has already played their next contest (against Boiling Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bishop McDevitt will host Camp Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bishop McDevitt's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
