Miller County came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Schley County Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in February, they had to take a 9-3 defeat.

Thomas Cook made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Cook was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and one double while going 3-for-5. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Tucker Clay was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brayden Horn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Miller County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Miller County pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Schley County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Miller County will challenge Baconton Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Schley County, they will square off against Marion County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Schley County is facing Marion County at the right time seeing as Marion County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
