CrossPointe Christian Academy never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Covington Academy on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Cooper Sexton made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harrison Wilkes, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gaines Casey, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

CrossPointe Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

CrossPointe Christian Academy's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3-1. As for Covington Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

As for Covington Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Peachtree Academy at 6:00 p.m. on April 15.
