East Coweta came tearing into Monday's game with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cherokee Warriors a 3-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Payton Wilson was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

East Coweta hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.

East Coweta's win bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Cherokee, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Coweta beat the Warriors by a score of 2-0 later that day.
