Soccer Game Preview: Saddleback vs. Rancho Alamitos

The Saddleback Roadrunners will take on the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Saddleback is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Western just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Saddleback haven't been shut out since back in November of 2025.

Meanwhile, Rancho Alamitos didn't have quite enough to beat Loara on Thursday and fell 2-1.

Rancho Alamitos' loss dropped their record down to 4-8-3. As for Saddleback, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1-1 and their overall record down to 9-4-3.

Everything went Saddleback's way against Rancho Alamitos in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Saddleback made off with a 5-1 victory. Will the Roadrunners repeat their success, or do the Vaqueros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
