Preview: Loyalton Grizzlies vs. Plumas Charter Warriors
Having just played yesterday, the Loyalton Grizzlies will get right back to it and host the Plumas Charter Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Loyalton has seven straight victories, Plumas Charter has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Loyalton gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 63-23 win over Paradise Adventist Academy at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Loyalton has posted since December 5, 2023.
Loyalton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophie Holland, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Holland is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played. Catherine Petterson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Plumas Charter lost to Princeton on the road by a decisive 30-15 margin on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Plumas Charter has scored all season.
Loyalton pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.67 points. As for Plumas Charter, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Loyalton against Plumas Charter in their previous matchup on Friday as the squad secured a 56-28 victory. Does Loyalton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plumas Charter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
