Football Game Preview: Montevideo Thunderhawks vs. Dassel-Cokato Chargers

The Montevideo Thunderhawks will head out on the road to square off against the Dassel-Cokato Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montevideo hasn't scored more than 12 points for five games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Montevideo is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against New London-Spicer on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Thunderhawks were dealt a 55-0 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Thunderhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Wildcats are ranked 61st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dassel-Cokato). They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 win over Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta on Friday.

Dassel-Cokato's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Montevideo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
