Soccer Game Preview: Thomas County Central vs. Houston County

The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets will take on the Houston County Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomas County Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Thomas County Central's offense. They lost 4-0 to Lee County on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Trojans are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Houston County hadn't done well against Veterans recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Houston County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Veterans. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Bears were the better team in the second half.

Houston County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Thomas County Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
