Baseball Game Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Clinton Maroons

The MacArthur Generals will face off against the Clinton Maroons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

MacArthur lost 8-1 to Riverton on Friday.

Meanwhile, Clinton entered their tilt with Eureka on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Hornets.

Preston Curtis and Mitchell Cornwell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Curtis pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Cornwell tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. At bat, Curtis went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Cornwell went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh Bass, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Brock Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Clinton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

MacArthur's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Clinton, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.
