Basketball Game Preview: Serra Cavaliers vs. Ramona Convent Tigers

The Serra Cavaliers will square off against the Ramona Convent Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Serra came up into this matchup off a tough 24-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Heritage by a score of 38-35 last Saturday. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, Serra saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mariyah Lewis, who posted ten points, was perhaps the best of all. Saniaya Johnson was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ramona Convent). They greeted the New Year with with a 53-36 victory over Sacred Heart of Jesus. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Serra's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ramona Convent, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
