Baseball Recap: Southwest DeKalb Comes Up Short

Southwest DeKalb suffered their biggest defeat since February 21st on Wednesday. They came up short against the St. Pius X Catholic Golden Lions, falling 10-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Golden Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Southwest DeKalb saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Freeman, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Southwest DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for St. Pius X Catholic, their victory was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-1.

Looking ahead, Southwest DeKalb will challenge Marist at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The War Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Pius X Catholic, they will be playing at home against Druid Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
