Overton just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face Southern Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Overton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season.

Southern Valley will be up against a hot Overton team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles claimed a resounding 61-29 victory over Axtell. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 32 points or more this season.

Overton's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Halynn Hughes, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Gracen Hughes was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Overton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 37 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Southern Valley over Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 39-15 margin over Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood]. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 11th (when they won 58-29).

Overton's record is now 3-1. As for Southern Valley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Overton took a serious blow against Southern Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 55-18. Can Overton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
