Soccer Recap: Woodside Plays to a Tie

On Tuesday, neither the Woodside Wildcats nor the Aragon Dons could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Wildcats had to tread lightly for part of the contest as Natalia Lopez and Mariam Yusuf were both handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Woodside's goal came courtesy of Piper Wollenberger-Oviedo, which was the first she's scored this season.

Woodside's draw gives them a new season record of 5-2-3. As for Aragon, they moved theirs to 6-2-1.

Woodside and Aragon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Woodside will face off against Menlo-Atherton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday up 161 places (134 vs. 295). Woodside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season. Similarly, Aragon (ranked 73rd) will meet Sequoia (ranked 425th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
