Basketball Recap: Granada Hills Charter Takes a Loss

Granada Hills Charter played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Birmingham Patriots 65-25. The Highlanders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Birmingham's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lili Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Kamora Coleman, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Granada Hills Charter dropped their record down to 10-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Birmingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Granada Hills Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-40 win against Cleveland on the 17th. Birmingham has also already played their next contest, a 65-23 victory against Taft on the 17th.
