Southeast Colorado had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Burlington Cougars a 12-0 shutout. The Angels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Nobody will forget Anna Wollert's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Burlington's batters): she turned in a perfect game. Wollert has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Southeast Colorado let Savanna Brown and Zoe Martinez run wild. Brown went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Martinez went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Brown a new career-high. Kennedy Gyurman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Southeast Colorado hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 11 consecutive contests.

Southeast Colorado's record now sits at 12-2. As for Burlington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Southeast Colorado beat the Cougars by a score of 12-0 later that day.
