Recap: Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls vs. Neumann-Goretti Saints
The Archbishop Ryan Raiders and Ragdolls suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 81-52 loss at the hands of Neumann-Goretti. While losing is never fun, Archbishop Ryan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Neumann-Goretti is ranked eighth).
Neumann-Goretti's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carryn Easley, who scored 28 points along with five assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Easley has scored all season. Amya Scott was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 12 assists and eight steals.
Archbishop Ryan has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Neumann-Goretti, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Ryan will take on Nazareth Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neumann-Goretti, they will be playing at home against Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
