Basketball Game Preview: Charleston Collegiate Sundevils vs. Crown Leadership Academy Lions

Charleston Collegiate is a perfect 8-0 against Crown Leadership Academy since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Sundevils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 6:30 p.m. Charleston Collegiate will be strutting in after a victory while Crown Leadership Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Charleston Collegiate is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home last Tuesday. They strolled past Cross with points to spare, taking the game 78-64. The win continues a trend for the Sundevils in their matchups with the Stingrays: they've now won six in a row.

Charleston Collegiate had a senior duo take command as Grant Morrison almost dropped a triple-double with 22 points, nine assists, and nine steals and Thomas Reed shot 55% from the field on his way to 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Morrison has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 26 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kani Butler, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Crown Leadership Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 67-44 to Palmetto Scholars Academy on Friday.

Everything came up roses for Charleston Collegiate against Crown Leadership Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 90-29 victory.
